ITALY: On 23rd-24th October 2013 Innovation Norway Milan was pleased to host the members of the NHO Board of Directors and Administration (Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise). The NHO business delegation in Italy aimed at inspiring future projects and transferring knowledge about current economic situation and business climate in Italy, the role of family -run companies and Italian clusters.
Innovation Norway accompanied the NHO delegation on a visit to a production chain of the company Ferrero. Ferrero is one of the largest confectionery groups in the world that today consists of 38 trading companies, 18 factories and 21,900 employees. NHO showed great interest since it is one of the most excellent examples of Italian family-run companies based on solid values. The company was founded by Pietro Ferrero in 1942 in Alba (Piedmont) and still owned and run by Ferrero family.
The NHO Board of Director was then hosted by Assolombarda at its premises in Milan for a meeting. Assolombarda is the largest territorial association located in Lombardy with around 5,100 firms, and is also part of Confindustria (Italian Entrepreneurial Association). The meeting and the presentation of the Italian economy held by Assolombarda’s director Mr. Michele Angelo Verna, was a great chance to open up to new perspectives. Mr. Verna stressed the mission of the Association to protect and represent the enterprises’ interests in dealing with the political world, with social and political organizations and with local authorities as well as with trade unions.
In the evening of October 24th the representatives of NHO were invited by Innovation Norway to a networking dinner together with selected Norwegian businesses in the Milan area, relevant Italian business and institutional representatives. The dinner was held at the exclusive restaurant and hotel Four Seasons in Milan and it was a great occasion to develop new business networks and opportunities.
