The Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), Programme Operator for the «Environmental and Climate Change-related Research and Technology» Programme within the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, together with the Donor Programme Partner, Innovation Norway, visited Oslo and Trondheim from June 2nd to 6th with the aim to exchange competence and promote future cooperation with relevant Norwegian actors within the R&D sector. In Oslo, meetings took place with the Research Council of Norway (RCN) and Innovation Norway (IN) in order to explore future collaboration within the European Programmes, such as Horizon 2020, Eureka, and other national R&D schemes. Possible cooperation under the mentioned schemes is a clear result of a successful EEA Grants Programme.
CDTI´s visitors were also very interested in exchange best practices with IN and to learn from each other´s routines and policies. In Oslo the delegation also visited Telenor and learnt about the innovation and R&D policy of the Norwegian company. Later the visitants were welcomed by the Spanish Ambassador in Norway at his Residence.
In Trondheim, CDTI and IN-Madrid had the opportunity to learn about SIVA´s functioning and to visit the leading technological and Innovative Norwegian institutions: SINTEF, MARINTEK and NTNU, some of them are cooperation partners within diverse EEA Grants Projects together with Spanish project promoters. The visit to these prestigious institutions will also set a base for future collaboration and the first possibility for cooperation will take place in Madrid in October 2014 were an Expert Meeting on Energy Efficiency will take place as part of the bilateral cooperation scheme of the EEA Grants Programme. The aim of the event will be to exchange experience in the implementation of the energy efficiency policies and to promote B2B meetings that may lead to R&D and commercial cooperation.
