Lille hosts the European biotech-industry during 3 days this week. For the 3rd time, the Plant Based Summit is attracting a large number of European and international speakers. The future role of plant-based, green and sustainable chemistry is increasingly important, and the aim for this conference is to contribute to the commercialization-phase of the bio-based chemical industry.

Companies from different countries and a wide variety of sectors, like Basf, Michelin, Roquette, l’Oréal and our own Borregaard are amongst the exhibitors. Gudbrand Rødsrud, technology director at Borregaard, says that “This is the most interesting conference in Europe this year with regards to the biochemical industry. We are here to seek partners for sugar based chemicals to complement our Bali-technology”.

Innovation Norway is present with representatives from both our Oslo and Paris-offices. Marit Valseth, coordinator bio economy in Innovation Norway, says that this event is a great opportunity for Innovation Norway to extend our network within the plant based bio economy-sector and particularly with the French companies and clusters that we should cooperate with in the future. A closer collaboration with these networks will help Norwegian companies further into this market with a lot of knowledge within the land based bio refinery-sector.
