The construction of the many new hospitals in the Nordic countries necessitates technology wherever possible to improve efficiency, accuracy, reliability and safety. There is a need for all sorts of technologies and equipment. A new business matchmaking event will be organized on June 1st 2016 in Tampere, Finland.
Finpro, Innovation Norway, Swecare and Healthcare DENMARK organized a matchmaking event in Odense, Denmark on March 24th 2015. The goal was to encourage companies to create partnerships in the field of hospital technologies and equipment with other Nordic partners to enter specific markets outside Nordic countries together. The event was a success and in collaboration with FinnMedi, a new matchmaking event will be organized on June 1st 2016 in Tampere.
Prior to matchmaking event, on May 31st 2016, we invite you to Helsinki, Finland for Upgraded Life Festival. All four Nordic countries are building smart hospitals, four keynote speeches of innovative projects in hospitals, one from each Nordic country present. (Tampere keynote speaker confirmed, Development Director Isto Nordback, Tays)
10:00 Break-out sessions
Two one hour lasting break-out sessions, focusing on three topics. Every topic has a short introduction by a host from Tampere hospital and after that participants can introduce their own expertise and pitch their product to other participants (2 min. pitch). In the end of session there is time for discussion. Participants can choose two sessions out of three options (approximately 15 persons per group):
- Patient-guidance solutions: way finding across hospital area -parking, location of doctor appointment, general mapping of a hospital, including equipment/services tracking, e.g. service logistics, info stands, tracking and traceability
- Equipment and solutions for a more efficient and safe surgical treatment
- Virtual medical treatment – video conference based consultation and treatment, virtual doctor’s visit, remote/self-monitorin

14:30 Visit to Tampere Surgical Education Centre
Tampere Surgical Education Centre (TSEC) next to Tampere University Hospital is a modern international training facility built to improve know-how and patient safety related to surgical procedures. It focuses on the education and training of surgical techniques and clinical use of implants, instruments, and medical equipment. The courses mainly implement procedures on fresh whole-body cadavers. TSEC is a nonprofit organization, run by the local public Hospital District.
There will be bus transportation from Tampere to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and Helsinki city center at approximately 16-18 o’clock.
