France is on the lookout for energy efficient solutions

The Paris Agreement was signed by 195 countries in December 2015 during COP21, the UN climate conference, and is the world’s first universal and legally binding climate deal. Development and adoption of climate friendly technology has therefore never been more present on the global agenda. This is the backdrop for a number of events taking place in France in 2016 and 2017.

The French market is craving energy and environmentally efficient solutions. The French ambition for renewable energy production in the energy mix is 23% by 2020 and 32% by 2030: today renewable energy makes up 4 % of the energy mix.

There are many reasons why the French market is open to new energy and environmentally friendly solutions:

  • Renewable and recovered heating distributed via the district heating net is to be multiplied by five by 2030
  • France is targeting 40% greenhouse gas reduction by 2030
  • France aims at a 38% reduction in energy consumption in the building sector
  • Renovation of 500,000 dwellings per year from 2017
  • €750 Million will be spent on social housing renovation in the period 2015-2018

These opportunities can be matched with strong technological solutions from Norwegian and other Nordic companies.
